Memorial Gymnasium St. John's Preparatory School, Danvers, Massachusetts In 1999 St. John's Prep commissioned Gray Architects to develop a master plan to determine the campus and building needs for the next century. The renovation and addition to the gymnasium and a new library facility were identified as the first two expansion projects. The Memorial Gymnasium renovations will double the size of the building to 55,000 square feet. The existing lower level had never been fully excavated and the new design includes expansion into this existing space as well as a new addition. Upon completion of the project, the building will house two gymnasiums, five locker rooms, a weight training and exercise room, six fencing courts, a wrestling arena and the athletic offices.
