St. Joseph Education Center Medway, Massachusetts This new Education Center is located in a residential neighborhood surrounded by a natural resource area and residential homes. A master plan was developed to provide a new parish, including church, education center and residence. The first phase was the construction of a twenty-five thousand square foot Education Center. This building provides small classroom settings and space for large group functions. Its uses range from a community events venue to a senior citizen’s center to a preschool. The building is one story. It is designed to compliment the rural residential neighborhood. The building is situated toward the front of the site, with parking behind. Open space for outdoor activities has been created to the south of the center, between the hall and future church, easily accessible from both buildings. The hall is multifunctional. It can be divided into two smaller meeting areas with a movable partition. The lighting system has been designed to allow for evening events with subdued lighting, and large group activities with high intensity lighting. The Education Center has 12 classrooms, administrative offices, a 900 seat hall, and a full commercial kitchen. Client Archdiocese of Boston Status Completed 1998 Size 22,000 ft |
