Verizon Worcester Central Office Renovations
2009- 2014 Worcester, Massachusetts
The Verizon Worcester Central Office Building was constructed in 1928 in the Art Deco style. The facade was finished with limestone. Over the past 84 years this veneer system had developed sever problems with the stone anchoring. Alternatives for restoring the veneer were explored. A investigation removed various limestone panels and revealed that the steel angles were deteriorated. Remedial life safety renovations securing the facade were implemented in 2008. And the design for the renovations began in 2009.
