2007- 2010 Gloucester, Massachusetts
Gray Architects, Inc. entered into a joint venture in 2007 to reconstruct and redevelop two structures located at 119 & 123 Main Street in downtown Gloucester, with Padjen Architects, Inc. of Topsfield, MA. The new mixed-use structure houses multiple retail storefront spaces on both the lower and ground floors, most of which is now occupied. The second and third floors were designed to accommodate either business or residential use. Located on the corner of Main and Hancock Streets, the sloping grade of Hancock Street allowed for the design of a two level parking structure. The upper level parking area is equipped with radiant heating to eliminate
snow removal requirements during winter months, and to allow for safe entering and exiting of the upper level parking lot, by residents, customers, business owners, and their employees.
Client: Andrew’s-Gray Block Inc.
