Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church is located at 188 Elliott Street in Danvers, Massachusetts. The property was originally owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.  St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic church was built on the site and opened its doors in 1967.  St. Alphonsus was closed by the archdiocese in 2004.  In 2006 the property was purchased by Living Hope Church of The Nazarene, Beverly and was subsequently sold to Christ the Redeemer in February, 2010.  The church is a one story, 15,500 square foot, masonry structure located on 4.989 acres of land.  The property includes the building, a parking lot containing approximately 125 parking spaces and a significant amount of open space, including vegetated wetlands area. Approximately one quarter of the property, primarily the wetlands area, is located in the city of Beverly.   


The existing facility consists of a worship space which seats 750. The adgoing Parish Hall is rated for a maximum occupancy of 250 and includes a kitchen, raised proscenium stage, and a storeroom that serves as a choir vesting and furniture storage area.  The Parish Hall stage and a detached 14 x 40 foot single wide trailer unit serve as the Children’s Christian formation spaces.  Adult Formation and most non liturgical weekly functions and meetings take place in the parish hall. 


The master plan called for new space for multiple concurrent meetings or gatherings, staff offices, choir rehearsals, or additional Christian formation opportunities and a defined centralized welcoming entrance & gathering lobby.
