Koch Membrane Fabrication Facility
1997- 2010  Willmington, Massachusetts

Koch Membrane Systems, Inc.  retained Gray Architects, Inc. to provide the planning and design for a $8 million building program that was completed within two years. The first project was the complete renovation of an existing 80,000 square foot industrial building into a new engineering and fabrication  facility. This $6.5 million  expansion required the completion of all work in eight months.  The design team prepared bid packages for the various building trades and assisted the client in contract negotiations and monitored all construction. The work involved the installation of all new systems, a new  building exterior and the installation of new cranes. This facility has a new office area with cafeteria, private offices, open office and conference facilities. The fabrication area  includes a  welding area, carpenter shop, machine shop, buffing booth, paint spray booth, electric area, acid wash areas, pump room, docking facilities, testing stations, and assembly areas.
