Verizon Central Office Renovation
2010- 2016  Cambridge, Massachusetts

The 10 Ware Street telephone central office building was designed by the Boston Architectural firm of Densmore, LeClear and Robbins in 1932. As described in the Cambridge Sentinel 9 July 1932

“A new telephone building for Cambridge, of Georgian design, in harmony with the newest Harvard buildings, will soon begin to rise on the property owned by the New England Telephone & Telegraph Company on Ware street.............. The building designed by Densmore, Le Clear & Robbins, is a splendid example of how utility and beauty may be combined.”

The building exterior had been neglected for several years. Our firm designed the complete exterior renovation and restoration including replacement of all roofs. New slate to match the original. Restoration of the copper clad cupola and cornices. Brick restoration
and new low-E exterior windows.
